Work on the addition to the Richfield Springs Bible Church continues with finishing touches being made to the kitchen. The women of the congregation were instrumental in the layout of the appliances and cooking surfaces with large group church suppers and community events in mind.
The kitchen features electrical outlets galore for Crockpots and roasters and will feature two stoves and ovens and other appliances that were placed in an efficient “cook-friendly” plan that includes a pass-through window to the large group assembly area. The church hopes that community groups and organizations will use the facility for their events and plans an open house when it’s completed. The addition includes a pastor’s office, small group meeting room, utility and storage rooms, and a large group area that is designed to withstand indoor soccer, basketball, floor hockey and a variety of high energy games and activities for youth. Thus far, the church has raised over $100,000 for the addition through donations among the congregation without any public raising. Bruce Watson is a resident of Richfield Springs.
