WW fireman honored

Charles “Budd” Osborne, a West Winfield volunteer fireman, was presented with the Department Law & Order Award, July 19, at the 89th Annual Department Convention of The American Legion, Department of New York, in Niagara Falls. The award was given for Osborne being the emergency medical technician of the year for 2007. The Law & Order Committee of the American Legion, Lt. Walter J. Will C.M.H. Post 1058, West Winfield, recommended Osborne for the honor. The award recommendation and narrative was presented to The American Legion, Department of New York, Herkimer County Committee, then the 5th District which includes all American Legion posts in Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida, Onondaga and Oswego counties. The 5th District Law & Order Committee forwarded the recommendation and narrative to the Department of New York to be reviewed and compared with similar applications from the other nine districts in the state, which led to the award being presented to Osborne at the convention.
