Officers sworn in at Walter Will

WEST WINFIELD – At the American Legion, Lt. Walter J. Will C.M.H. Post 1058’s regular scheduled meeting, Thursday, June 21, the following officers where sworn in by Department of New York, County of Herkimer, 1st Vice Commander Daniel Ferguson. Post commander, Walter J. Will; 1st vice commander, Steven Evans; 2nd vice commander, Russell Miller; adjutant/treasurer, William Crewell; chaplain, Henry Berberick; historian, John Koenig; judge advocate, Donald Snyder; sergeant at arms, Charles Osborn; service officer, Frank Peo; and compliance officer, Donald Snyder. Post 1058 invites all persons in the community with prior military service to consider joining. All who served in the military, and were honorably discharged and were serving during the following periods, are eligible for membership in the American Legion. World War I – April 6, 1917 to Nov. 11, 1918; World War II – Dec. 7, 1941 to Dec. 31, 1946; Korean War – June 25, 1950 to Jan. 31, 1955; Vietnam War – Feb. 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975; Lebanon and Grenada – Aug. 24, 1982 to July 31, 1984; Panama – Dec. 20, 1989 to Jan. 31, 1990; Gulf War/War on Terror – Aug. 2, 1990 to cessation of hostilities as determined by the U.S. government.
