HERKIMER – The Herkimer County Dairy Promotion Committee is looking for candidates to be the 2007-08 Herkimer County dairy princess. Candidates must be a resident of Herkimer County between the ages of 16 and 24, never have been married, nor had a child. She must be the daughter of a dairy farmer or a person affiliated with agri-business, specifically revolving around the dairy industry. There is also a non-competitive dairy ambassador position for girls between the ages of 13 and 16. A dairy ambassador must also meet the eligibility requirements for a dairy princess. There will be an orientation meeting for all interested candidates at the Basloe Library, Main Street, Herkimer, Friday, April 6, from 6-8 p.m. The 44th Annual Dairy Princess Pageant will be Saturday, April 28, at Glory Days, 248 N. Main St., Herkimer. Cow tail hour begins at 6:30 p.m.; dinner will be served at 7:30. Tickets are $15.
