COOPERSTOWN – The New York State Historical Association and The Farmers’ Museum announced the appointment of John Carnahan as the vice president for development, effective Jan. 1.
Carnahan has long been professionally affiliated with the institutions. For over 20 years, he has been president of Better Solutions for Nonprofits, a private consultancy firm specializing in fundraising, strategic planning and management for non-profits, of which the museums have been a client.
In addition, he has worked with the Cooperstown Graduate Program since 2000, teaching various management and development courses, and serving as director of Admissions since 2005. For the past six months, Carnahan has been serving as acting director of development for the New York State Historical Association and The Farmers’ Museum.
