Election Day Supper slated
|
JORDANVILLE – Tuesday, Nov. 7 is the date for the traditional Election Day Supper held in the Social Hall of Jordanville Federated Church of Christ, 209 Main Street, serving at 4:30 p.m. Roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, carrots, French kraut, pickled beets, rolls, quick breads and homemade pies make up the menu that has remained the same for decades. Now cosponsored by the Jordanville Public Library and the Federated Church, the dinner was initiated as a fundraiser for the library 98 years ago. It was moved to the church when the Social Hall and kitchen were added in 1961. Prices are $8 for adults, $4 for children under 12, and children under five eat free. Take outs are 50 cents more.
