MILFORD – The Greater Oneonta Historical Society (GOHS) is chartering the Leatherstocking Railway, Sunday, Sept. 24, for the round trip between the Milford train station and Cooperstown. Leatherstocking Railway Historical Society historian Jim Loudon will provide passengers with historical commentary along the route and a souvenir program for each passenger. The train will leave the Milford station at 2 p.m. for the scenic and historic ride to Cooperstown and return by 5 p.m. Adult tickets are $12 for GOHS members and $15 for non-members, and include wine and cheese refreshments on the return trip. Tickets for children ages 3-12 are $8 for GOHS members and $10 for non-members, with soda and popcorn for refreshments. Tickets are for sale at the History Center and at GOHS events. Advance tickets or reservations are recommended but not required, as tickets will also be available at the station on the day of the event.
