May 21 – Official opening day. Weather dependant, it is possible the mill will open on weekends only before May 21.
Aug. 27-28 – 11th Annual
Antique Engine Show. Enthusiasts from the region join together to
display restored gas engines and farm machinery of the past. The mill
hosts the show, while Papa’s Antique Engine Club sponsors it, and it’s
free to the public.
Sept. 3 – Cider pressing
begins with the 2005 harvest of New York State grown apples. Watch
cider being made the old-fashioned way in an 1856 water-powered cider
mill. Visit the cider gallery’s exhibit entitled Power, Process &
Popularity.
Sept. 24-25 – Cooperstown
Rotary Applefest featuring music, antique tractors and family fun.

parking are free.
Oct. 1-2 (new date) – Big
Squeeze Weekend! In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the
Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard will host Bassett Healthcare’s
Mobile Mammography program. Information regarding breast cancer and
early detection through the use of mammography as well as the health
benefits of apples will be distributed. The staff of the program will
be available to answer questions or to schedule appointments.
Oct. 8-9 – Fly Creek Cider
Festival sponsored by the Fly Creek Cider Mill. Enjoy cider at the peak
of Upstate New York’s fall foliage. There will be cider-making
demonstrations throughout the day using the mill’s vintage equipment
dating back to 1856. Entertainment will be scheduled at a later date.
Weekends, Nov. 19-Dec. 18 –
Wassailing Weekends. The Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard will offer
demonstrations on how to make wassail, the traditional hot holiday
drink combining spices and cider.
Dec. 3-4 – Holiday Gift
Basket Workshop; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Create a holiday gift basket from
the mill’s wide array of Fly Creek Cider Mill products including fudge,
preserves, sauces and salsas. Bring your own basket and box or select
one from the mill’s inventory. Mill team member basketing experts will
be assisting in creating gift baskets.
Dec. 17-18 – Super Solstice
Sale. The mill closes down its 149th season Sunday, Dec.18. Product
discounts will be available for last minute shoppers as the mill
liquidates retired inventory.
