You may not be thinking about golf or getting your clubs ready yet, but here is something to think about and to voice your opinion about to your elected representatives as they try to get their hands in your pockets whenever you go to golf as well. Your support and immediate action are needed to fight proposed tax legislation that will increase the price of golf at all privately owned golf courses in New York. Governor (David) Paterson’s 2009-2010 Executive Budget proposes new sales taxes for many services – including golf greens fees, ski lift tickets and campground admissions. Public facilities would not be required to charge their customers sales tax for the same services. To protect your wallet from more Government greed, we ask you to contact the Governor and your legislators to let them know you oppose this proposal that will hurt your local golf business and cost all players more to enjoy the game! Thanks for helping and hopefully we will see you soon without a new sales tax on golf. Steven Schanz Meadow Links Golf Club Staff |
