How long does it take you to read a 300-page book that is easy to read and of particular interest to you? Now, imagine being given a sheaf of papers of over 1000 pages of complex and most important legislation in the evening and then being asked to cast your vote in the morning on a document which will spend about a Billion, with a B, dollars per page. How would you react? I have spent nearly 50 years negotiating union construction contracts, whose impact was, at most, three years. I never allowed myself to be pressured by an overnight demand. Now that this bill has been passed, all we can do is challenge every attempt to allow the pork that permeates this legislation to be exposed to the harsh light of day and prevented from becoming the spoils of a few legislators. Never has the participation of the citizenry in demanding good government been more important than it is today Let your elected officials know how you feel. Don McKay, P.E. Richfield Springs
