Act now to stop FOCA
|
Since 1973 Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion, over 50 million lives have been snuffed out in this country. The Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton decisions created a “right” to an abortion for any reason and at any time during pregnancy. The case Planned Parenthood vs. Casey allowed states to pass a few limitations, such as parental notification and informed consent legislation. Otherwise, little has changed since 1973. If President Obama and the Democratic Congress have their way, things will become much worse. The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), which is being promoted in Washington, would eliminate all restrictions on abortion. Parental consent and informed consent laws would be overturned. Taxpayers would be required to pay for abortions. Health care workers who are opposed to abortion, and at present have the right to refuse to take part in an abortion, would lose that right. The ban on partial-birth abortion would be overturned. It is even possible that peaceful protests against abortion, or a clergy’s sermon against abortion, could be considered a grievance which will be liable to a civil lawsuit. President Obama has said that the passage of FOCA is one of his top priorities. Not surprisingly, the multi-billion-dollar abortion industry, led by Planned Parenthood, has put a lot of money into the campaigns of the President and members of Congress who support abortion. Americans must stand up for the women who feel pressured to have abortions, and for their babies, and stop the passage of FOCA. When we turn ourbacks on the plight of the innocent, we turn our backs on God and we risk losing God’s help and protection. Heaven help our country if that happens. Very Truly Yours,
