| MORRIS – Cherry Valley-Springfield lost a slugfest to Morris, 15-11, last Tuesday, in a Tri-Valley League softball game at Morris Central School. Lindsey Shumway had three hits and three RBI to lead the Mustangs, who improved to 2-0. Bobbi-Jean Bryden went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs. Michelle Natali went 4-for-5 to lead the Patriots in their season opener. Ashley Jacoby, Brittany Mabie and Hannah Stahl all had three hits, while Mabie drove in three runs and Stahl had two RBI. Bethanie Mabie also drove in two runs.
