The Friends of the Village Library of Cooperstown announces the March Adult Lecture Series for Thursday, March 26, at 7 p.m. in the Cooperstown Village Meeting Room, just below the village library on Main Street. Chris Harmon, director of CADE (Center for Agriculture Development and Entrepreneurship) and local science teacher Amy Parr will team up to present a program entitled “Are You a Locavore? Revisiting Animal, Vegetable, Miracle,” by Barbara Kingsolver. Spring is an exciting and promising season in the agricultural world. This presentation will focus on our local food system and will bring attention to Michael Pollan’s recent work “An Open Letter to the Next Farmer in Chief.” Pollan’s letter can be reviewed at www.nytimes.com/2008/10/12/magazine/12policy-t.htm. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Lippitt at 607-547-8154.
