She is a native of Richfield Springs and resides with her family in Herkimer. She established her business here five years ago and recently moved to her new location. She learned her profession at Herkimer BOCES after graduating from high school. She previously worked at two other salons, but eventually decided to start her own business.Over the years Nasypany has added other services. Working with her is Stephanie Johnson, massage therapist; Susie Carpenter, esthetician (facial skin care); and Kelly Hameister, nail technician. Their clientele comes from as far away as Cherry Valley, Jordanville and West Winfield. They also offer boys and men’s haircuts. With hairstyles constantly changing, Nasypany said she frequently attends classes to keep current on trends and techniques. Currently very popular is the “Inverted U” women’s style of cut, which is shorter in the back and longer in the front. She said hairstyles these days tend to be a little longer. Business somewhat fluctuates with the season. “We’re doing very well, although it slows down a bit in the winter after the summer population has gone home,” she said. Main Street Styles is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
