Recently, the Cherry Valley town board sensibly adopted a three month development moratorium to allow for careful consideration of a wind energy ordinance for Cherry Valley. Although Reunion Power opposed a 12-month development moratorium, the recently adopted 90-day moratorium makes sense. In making this decision, the town board indicated its intent to use the three months to craft a wind energy law which would include the time to gather objective information, review model ordinances, and collect input from all interested stakeholders. At the conclusion, a law would be put into place tailored to the issues that are important to Cherry Valley. The completion of the law would also provide Reunion the opportunity to submit a project application which reflects the specific criteria set by the town and allow further review by the community. We wish to thank the Cherry Valley town board and planning board for taking the time to consider a wind energy law. David Little Reunion Power
