Like many other owners of homes on Canadarago Lake, I am desperate. Many years ago, my late husband and I bought what we thought would someday become our retirement home – a summer camp on Canadarago Lake. Though we lived in New Jersey, we cherished that place. Though he has passed on, I still do. Because we are not full-time residents, we have no voice. As a result, though our property has been reassessed by the town of Richfield to twice what it was, neither the town of Richfield nor the towns of Exeter or Otsego want anything to do with actually helping us do something about the level of the water or the need for a new dam, among other things. Tax money they will gladly collect, but help they will not give! We need our own lake district. Please email State Senator Seward and Assemblyman William Magee to move on Senate Bill 7540 and Assembly Bill 4650. And if the vote comes to us, please support the creation of the lake district. I will! Roseanne Barletta South Plainfield, NJ Richfield Springs
