On behalf of the Girl Scouts-Foothills Council, Inc., I would like to extend my deepest gratitude for all who made our recent event, April Showers: Honoring Women of Courage, Confidence and Character, a wonderful success. The evening allowed us to honor special women in our lives who have positively impacted their friends, families and communities. All who attended enjoyed the one-of-a-kind evening – from the charm of Hotel Utica and our wonderful silent auction to our keynote speaker, Uzo Unobagha. An event of this magnitude would not be possible without the generous support of our community partners. Our bronze sponsor, Trainor Associates; and our Foothills Friend Sponsors, Fiber Instrument Sales, Inc., J. Michel Associates and Utica National Insurance Group demonstrated their dedication to Girl Scouting by stepping forward in support of April Showers. Thanks to the very generous in-kind donations from more than 40 local businesses and individuals, and the support of sponsors and attendees, the event raised more than $2,200, which will benefit volunteer development and programs within the council. Thank you to all who supported April Showers, either through generous donations, sponsorship or attendance. The evening was a night to remember for all of us and we look forward to next year when we can again honor women who embody the spirit of what our girls aspire to be. Helen M. Rico, Girl Scouts-Foothills Council President
