Earth Festival planning underway

HARTWICK – Organizers announced recently that Earth Festival 2007 has been confirmed for Saturday, May 5 and will be held again at Milford Central School. Presented by Environmental Education Network of Otsego County, this environmentally-focused, interactive event will feature exhibits, workshops, vendors and entertainment, all with a fun, earth-friendly twist. More than 500 people attended the debut of Earth Festival in 2006. As EENOC seeks Earth Festival supporters and participants, letters are being mailed to area businesses, schools, organizations, and individuals. Financial contributions are most welcome, and an open invitation to earth-friendly exhibitors, food and retail vendors, and workshop presenters is being extended. Earth Festival 2007 will also include a silent auction and will introduce a trash-to-treasure challenge, the Trendy Trash Contest. In conjunction with Earth Festival, EENOC will also publish an Earth Day calendar, as it did in 2006. All those holding an environmental or earth-related event or activity between April 15 and May 15 are invited to submit information for the calendar at no cost. Earth Festival 2007 is sponsored by Wildlife Learning Company, in cooperation with Otsego 2000, Otsego County Conservation Association and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Otsego County.
