MILFORD – The next Upper Susquehanna Contradance will feature Oneonta caller Peter Blue and music by the Blue Rugg Cutters (Peter Blue, Yvonne Rugg, Carol Mandigo). The dance will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, from 8-11 p.m., on the wood floor of the Upper Susquehanna Cultural Center, the former Presbyterian Church, on N. Main St. (Route 28) in Milford. Blue’s repertoire of traditional and contemporary dances is delivered in an easygoing style with a sense of humor all his own. Rugg’s melodic, well-phrased fiddling leads the band, while Mandigo’s guitar and Blue’s button accordion and percussion provide the harmonic and rhythmic drive to a wide variety of traditional dance tunes. Upper Susquehanna Contradance welcomes everyone; no partner or previous dancing experience is needed. All dances are taught. Call Ed for more information at 607-432-6620, or logon to mysite.verizon.net/elbugel. This dance is made possible in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts. In Otsego County, the Decentralization Program is administered by the Upper Catskill Community Council of the Arts.
