COOPERSTOWN – The Cooperstown Farmers’ Market 2006 finale, a Christmas party and end-of-season celebration is set for Saturday. Skip West will perform, Santa will be on hand from 10 a.m. to noon, and punch and cookies will be served. West will play children’s songs and traditional and original “rocka-folkabilly” tunes in the American folk tradition. This kid-friendly event will also feature a craft station, where children can create holiday cards with paper, glue and all sorts of decorative materials.
From left, Cooperstown Farmers’ Market Manager Jennifer Hanson and vendor Kathleen White, of Acrospire Farm, sell tickets for the Holiday Market raffle to a customer, Saturday, Dec. 2. John Noon, of Cooperstown, bought the winning ticket, which entitled him to a basket holding more than $200 in merchandise and gift certificates from market vendors. Proceeds from this event will go toward the 2007 Market Entertainment Fund.
