Five arrested in meth lab raid

A raid on a suspected methamphetamine lab in the town of Richfield resulted in five arrests, Saturday. John J. Reid, 40, Melissa S. Reid, 29, Dean J. Zabele, 41, all of County Route 25; Kevin M. Reid, 33, U.S. Highway 20; and John D. Reid, 19, White City, Fla., were charged with second degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The charge is a class A felony carrying a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. The raid was conducted around 7 a.m. Saturday at the home of John J. Reid and Melissa Reid. Members of the New York State Police found 20 ounces of liquid methamphetamine and several items used to make the drug. Police also found a surveillance system and seven firearms, including an assault style rifle. An infant was in the home and, according to troopers, is staying with relatives. The five were arraigned in Exeter town court and sent to Otsego County jail without bail.
