Staying busy at Bronner Manor
by Laurie L. Hext |
“Baby it’s cold outside” was the thought that entered everyone’s
mind this winter. At Bronner Manor Apartments on Park Street in
Richfield Springs, we had plenty to do to keep us feeling warm on the
inside.
The month of February was a fun-filled month of activities, which
included each of us thinking of Valentine’s Day. Putting our creative
juices to the test, there were a variety of hearts made from
construction paper. These were proudly decorated and displayed in the
Community Room, where each heart was filled with love.
Taking the chill out of the air was next on the Bronner Manor “to
do” list. A cabin-fever picnic was on the agenda. Each resident was
asked not only to imagine it was summer, but we were encouraged to wear
shorts, sunglasses, hats and anything else that would keep the sunshine
around for a little while. Sorry, no bikinis! We had a wonderful array
of picnic food that included everything from hot dogs, macaroni and
potato salad, watermelon, and was topped off with a delicious dessert
of strawberry shortcake. We really did have a taste of summer!
We were all Irish as we crafted St. Patrick’s Day decorations for
our community walls. Made from green construction paper, were the usual
shamrocks, top hats and pots of gold.
Elaine Zesewitz, a recent new Bronner Manor resident, flew south to
Florida. She took walks every morning, relaxed in the hot spa and just
enjoyed visiting her brother-in law-and wife. Nice tan, Elaine!
We are hopefully over the usual winter ailments and feeling pretty
good. Celebrating recent birthdays were Mary Zawko, Feb. 21, and Laurie
Hext on March 11. Until next month, we will remain busy at Bronner.
