The chili contest and pie sale sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary,
Feb. 4, was a huge success. We had 13 entries for the chili contest,
with a lot of taste testers ready and waiting.
The winners of the chili contest were: 1st place, Dale Robertson;
2nd Place, Wendy Sadlon; 3rd Place, Marilyn Hext. The Price Chopper
pick was Terry Crandall.
We would like to give a special thanks to Price Chopper for
graciously donating gift cards for the winners and toppings for the
chili and the pies.
We would also like to thank member Stacey Smith for all of the time
and effort that she put in to make this such a success. We would also
like to thank all of the members who baked pies, and who came to help
on the day of the contest. We sure couldn’t do it without your help.
Keep your chili pots ready for next year, and join in on the fun.
We also held a quilt and afghan raffle. The quilt was hand-made and
donated by Fran Hazelton, and the afghan was hand-knitted and donated
by Helene Ellard. Both of these ladies did a tremendous job and deserve
a lot of credit for both their time and effort involved in making these
items for us.
The drawing was held at our Feb. 13 meeting with winners as follows:
the afghan was won by Cindy Peterson, of Richfield Springs. The quilt
was won by Janet Johnson, of Norwich. We would like to thank all of the
members who sold tickets for this raffle.
If any of our members have fund raising ideas, don’t hesitate to
come to a meeting and share them with us; we would love to hear from
you.
A quick reminder to any of you who have had or currently have family
members in the military and would like to become a member of the
auxiliary, please stop by the American Legion and get a membership
application. We would love to have you join.
