JORDANVILLE – The ladies of the Henderson Chapter of the National
Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), with
husbands and guests, held their annual dinner meeting Saturday, Nov.
12, at the home of Jane and Ron Klump, Van Hornesville. A delicious and
bountiful covered-dish dinner was enjoyed by all, followed by a
shortened business meeting and program.
The minutes of the Sept. 27 meeting were read and roll call was
taken. A treasurer’s report was given, followed by motions directing
the treasurer to pay national and state NSDAR dues, monetary donations
to various national and state projects and any bills that may be
presented during the winter break. The treasurer was also authorized to
order new checks and arrange to have the regent’s name added to the
checking and savings accounts.
Jane Klump, a member who is also one of the trustees for the Hoyer
Hill Cemetery, reported that Glen Armstrong consented to be a trustee
replacing Bill Homiak who has retired and moved from the area. Regent
Jean Mesick reported that 25 copies of the Stories of Andrustown have
been ordered and will be available soon.
Following discussion, the following slate of officers were elected
to be installed in April 2006: Regent M. Jean Mesick, Vice Regent Jane
Klump, Chaplain Doris Getman, Treasurer Patricia Couchman, Register
Florence Moore, Recording Secretary Patricia Couchman, Corresponding
Secretary Patricia Couchman, Librarian Betty Harter, and Historian June
Richvalsky.
Regent asked members to consider changing some of the regular
evening meetings to daytime meetings when they meet in April. She also
announced that the 2006 planning meeting would be held the second
Tuesday of March at the home of Florence Moore in Van Hornesville.
Regent presented a brief program on women’s issues.
