RSCS Reunion - August 20-22 2010
West Winfield Firemen’s Field Days announced

The West Winfield Fire Department is holding its Firemen’s Field Days on July 3, 4 and 5 in the Memorial Park, Route 20, West Winfield.

The activities begin on Friday evening, July 3, with the field opening at 5:00 PM. At 6:00 PM there is a Cruize-In with prizes being offered for best cars, motorcycles and trucks along with a “best in show” prize. At 6:30 PM there is an auction of new items and gift certificates donated by area individuals and businesses. After the auction, entertainment will be provided by the Honeybush Brothers. After dark on Friday evening, there will be a gigantic fireworks display.

On Saturday, July 4, the Eastern Star sponsors a town-wide, all-day garage sale. The field will open at 5:00 PM. At 6:00 PM there will be community parade with trophies given for best appearing floats entered by businesses, civic and church groups. Rounding out the evening will be music by The Fulton Chain Gang beginning at 8:00 PM. The “Gang” is the area’s leading band in Southern and Country Rock. They deliver Top 40 country dance music, Southern rock and their own original music selections. They have opened for such shows as Toby Keith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sammy Kershaw and Mark Chestnut, just to name a few.

On Sunday, July 5, it all begins with a Chicken Bar-B-Q. Serving starts at Noon. At 3:00 PM the Bridgewater Fire Department will have the drawing for their 4-wheeler raffle. Drawing for WWFD’s Great Greenback Giveaway will begin at 4:00 PM.

As you may realize by now, there is no mention of rides. Due to circumstances beyond the Fire Department’s control, we have lost our rides for this year and as of this date are still working to bring in some type of rides from other sources. We decided to hold the field days even if we do not have rides. There is still food, beverages and live music that we are well known for. More importantly, there is the opportunity for friends and family to get together at the Field Days and enjoy themselves on a holiday weekend. We encourage groups and organizations to make plans on participating in our community parade Saturday evening.

Mark your calendar and plan on spending a fun holiday weekend with the West Winfield Fire Department in the picturesque Winfield Memorial Park, Route 20, West Winfield.
