Hearing set for Springfield comprehensive plan
A draft of Springfield’s Comprehensive Plan is ready for community review. A Comprehensive Planning Committee comprised of Thomas Armstrong, Thomas Clarke, Mark Crisman, Betty Fassett, Clyde Goodrich, Ken Ostrander, and led by Co-chairs David Staley and Bob Weaver have been diligently working on various elements of the plan since October, 2006.
The issues, goals, and recommended strategies detailed in this plan are based on information and data gathered about the Town of Springfield, as well as input from the Town residents through the Resident Survey, the Planning and Visioning Workshop, and public attendance at monthly meetings.
The next step in the process is to gather public comment on the draft document. Copies of the draft Comprehensive plan are available for review at the Springfield Library and at the town clerk’s office. The plan has also been posted online at the Otsego County Planning Department website at www.otsegocounty.com/depts/pln/documents/SpringfieldDraftCompPlanJan2909.pdf .
A public hearing regarding the draft plan is scheduled for March 16, at 7 p.m. at the Springfield Community Center located in Springfield Center.
