About Us

RSCS Reunion - August 20-22 2010

For over 100 years Richfield Springs, NY had its very own newspaper. The Richfield Springs Mercury served its readers well and is fondly remembered to this day. We are now proud to announce the Mercury is back!

The inagural issue was published on July 17th, 2003, with one more monthly publication that followed in August. Starting in September of 2003 through the end of the year, the Mercury went to a bi-monthly publication. However we are proud to announce that starting on January 8th, 2004, the Richfield Springs Mercury will be a weekly publication.

The initial public response to our recreation of this newspaper has been outstanding.
We believe it is because we tapped into what the old Mercury did very well, which is listen to the readers and cover the news our patrons care about.

The Mercury is here to serve the residents of Richfield Springs, Jordanville, Van Hornesville, Springfield and the surrounding communities. Our intent is to be the absolute best, most complete source of news about the fine people of this region. We believe we're off to a fantastic start!

We love to hear about the events in your lives. Please contact us about individuals who have either moved in or moved out of the area. This is news and we want to make sure our people know who's coming and going!

Please contact us with any item you consider newsworthy by e-mailing a "town topics" item to: editor@rsmercury.com. We accept picures here as well. Please send the photos as an attachment.

We are always open to suggestions on how to serve you better. The Mercury hopes to hear from you!
